Hi everyone, I'm the main designer and developer for this project :)
I'm a student, doing my master at the **University of Udine, Italy**. Currently I am following my last year of studies, after that I hope to continue working on Fenrir full-time, hopefully I'll make enough money to make a job out of this.

I just finished my master at the **University of Udine, Italy** and Fenrir was my [master thesis](https://www.fenrirproject.org/Fenrir/Thesis/wikis/home). I hope to continue working on Fenrir full-time, hopefully I'll make enough money to make a job out of this.

Experience-wise, I consider myself a good **programmer** in C and C++, as those are the languages I prefer. I also have good knowledge of java, scripting bash, and I won't list the languages I had experience with, as they go from haskell to scala or jolie.
I also worked on some web-related projects, but I understood the web and I are not made for each other :p

My first Linux distribution was a Slackware, but today I use ArchLinux. As the motto goes "if you know Slackware, you know Linux", I don't have problems managing other distributions.

I'm also a **system administrator** for GNU/Linux and **BSD systems, and I specialize myself in networks and security. Currently I maintain 4 servers (FreeBSD, gentoo, CentOS), one for personal use, one for my university, and two for AsCI, a student association for people interested in informatics at my University. The server hosting this website is currently based on gentoo-hardened.

I have been president of AsCI, (roughly translated: student association for informatics culture) at my university, and I helped to manage or directly managed the last 5 [Open Source Days](http://opensourceday.org), a day dedicated to conference on the open source world, much like the Linux Day, but held at a different date (end of November) and with some differences. Last year we have a little over 1000 people, which is not bad, considering we are not in a huge city (~100k people).

My hobby is **climbing**. I started in 2013, and right now I find it really difficult to do a 6b way, but I hope to get better :) -- Don't worry, I always go climbing with two firefighters, no freeclimbing ;)

I do have a twitter and facebook account, but don't expect me to keep track of them too much -- I only use them to quickly contact some of my friends.

Fenrir is my master thesis project, I started working on its details around July 2013, but I haven't had the time to completely document everything until now.

This project is bigger than you might imagine. The basic functionalities are almost finished, but I intend to add a lot more. It will take some time, but everything will be done in an incremental way. This project can't be handled in a rolling-release status, as it needs a lot of security and stability.
